Chief Officer Appointments Committee

Terms of Reference

To undertake the recruitment and appointment of the Chief, Deputy and Assistant Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary (to be eligible to serve on the Committee when dealing with appointments a member must have completed Chief Officer Appointments Training).

The development, operation and review of a Chief Officer Bonus Scheme

To periodically review of the terms and conditions of service relating to the Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable and Assistant Chief Constables.

To deal with complaints and discipline matters in relation to senior officers.

Membership

The Sub-Committee will be constituted as and when required comprising of five members drawn from all members of the Police Authority. To be eligible to serve when the Committee is meeting to make appointments, members serving must have completed Chief Officer Appointments Training.
