Terms of Reference

Oversight of the Force's Human Resources Plan including training strategies and plans.

Holding the force to account for the implementation of the Human Resources Plan.

Holding the force to account for the effectiveness of its employment policies, practices and procedures and monitoring of data relevant thereto.

Monitoring the Force’s implementation of the National Standards for Workforce Development.

Monitoring Force compliance with national standards on equality, diversity and human rights issues.

Oversight of the Force’s Performance and Development Review and Occupational Health Strategies.

To set annual employment targets as required by the Home Office for inclusion in the Policing Plan.

To monitor the Constabulary’s compliance with its equality duties.

To consider and advise the Authority generally on matters of equality, diversity and human rights relevant to the functions of the Police Authority.

Monitoring and review of the Authority’s Equality and Human Rights Scheme including the implementation of Action Plans.

Consideration of and advice to the Authority on diversity issues.

Consideration of such other matters relating to human resources/employment issues as the Committee may determine.

Oversight of Health and Safety including First Aid.
