Policing Priorities for 2010/11

The strategic priorities Durham Police Authority has set for Durham Constabulary, in consultation with the public for 2010/11, are to:

Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour

Anti-Social Behaviour is any nuisance, intimidating or destructive activity that impacts on an individual's quality of life.

Reduce the harm to our communities caused by the effect of alcohol and drug abuse.

Drugs and alcohol abuse have a range of harmful effects on communities. They link to burglary and theft, disorder, nuisance behaviour and in some areas nuisance and rowdy behaviour at night.

Protect vulnerable people from harm such as abuse, injury or assault.

Protecting vulnerable people covers a wide range of issues such as domestic abuse, child protection, adult protection, hate crime, violent assaults and even anti-social behaviour in some instances.
