Terms of Reference

Management and co-ordination of the Authority’s work with partners including Local Strategic Partnerships, Community Safety Partnerships and other relevant partnerships.

Oversight and monitoring of the Force’s effective partnership working and engagement.

Oversight and co-ordination of the Authority’s functions under Section 96 of the Police Act 1996 (obtaining the views of the community on policing issues).

Monitoring and review of the Joint Authority and Force Consultation Strategy and Action Plan.

Monitoring best practice in effective consultation methods and exploring the best means of reaching all sections of the community including young people and minority ethnic communities and vulnerable people.

Oversight and development of the Authority’s Community Initiative Support Scheme (n.b scheme currently suspended).

Responsibility for Communications and PR Management.

To appoint Task and Finish Groups as and when required to undertake specific projects.
