Single Equality And HR Scheme
About the Scheme
The Single Equality and Human Rights Scheme replaces our race, disability and gender equality schemes by bringing those three strands of diversity alongside sexual orientation, age, faith/religious belief and, in addition, human rights, into one overarching document.
In producing this ‘joint’ document we are conscious that no single strand of diversity or human rights issue should be seen as more important than another. Your views will be invaluable in assisting us with this.
The Scheme itself provides an overview of who we are, what we do and our statutory duties in relation to equality and human rights. The Action Plan at Appendix 4 outlines the activities we will undertake in order to meet our statutory duties and the aims we set out in this Scheme. This is a living document and will be amended as appropriate, based on comments received.
