The Role Of HMIC

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) has a role in police performance. Their mission is “inspecting policing in the public interest”. The inspections & reviews that they do result in a public report that is published and some of Durham Constabulary’s inspection reports are available below:

Other reports are available on the HMIC website.

As part of their role, HMIC also publishes County Durham and Darlington official crime and anti-social behaviour statistics, together with the independent and professional assessments carried out by HMIC.
