| These are the remains of a medieval shieling lying on level ground on the north bank of Blacka Burn. The foundations of a rectangular, dry-stone building can still be seen. There were once several other similar buildings in the area, but they have been destroyed by forestry. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
