About our public engagement events
Voting for Community Safety and Policing Priorities
The Police Authority hosts annual events for local people to vote on local policing and community safety priorities for the following year, which are in addition to the strategic priorities set nationally by Government via the National Community Safety Plan.
During our periods of public consultation, local people can have their say by visiting one of our stands at supermarkets and shopping centres throughout County Durham and Darlington. Please visit our Policing Priorities page for further details.

Annual Public Community Consultative Group Event
Another opportunity for members of the public to find out more about the work of the Police Authority, speak to Members and vote for their Local Policing Priorities is at the Annual Public Community Consultative Group (PCCG) event, usually held during December.
Last years event was a great success as a further sixty members of the public attended and voted on the policing and community safety priorities that were important to them. The date and venue for the next Annual PCCG event will be announced once these details are confirmed.
Annual Stakeholder Event
The Annual Stakeholder Event is held annually in Durham City and is held in partnership with Durham Constabulary, Safe Durham Partnership and Darlington Community Safety Partnership (CSP).
This event is specifically for stakeholders from County Durham and Darlington, enabling them to vote on their local policing and community safety priorities for the coming year, on behalf of their organisations.
The date and venue for the next Annual Stakeholder Event will be announced once these details are confirmed.
Annual Council Tax precept setting
In addition to the events held above, we also hold an annual council tax precept setting event for members of the public. If you would like to be involved in the precept setting event, please contact us and we will let you know when this will be taking place.
